Chapter 27: He Doesn’t Like Omegas

Chapter 27: He Doesn’t Like Omegas

Eliàn;

I kiss my teeth again as images of last night flood my mind.

My hands are in my pockets and my gaze on my feet as Alana and I stroll.

"Are you alright, Master Elian?" She suddenly questions, and I come back to earth.

"Huh?" I reply, and she looks at me with worry in her eyes.

"That sound... It’s the seventh time you’ve made it in the past two minutes." She replies, and I realise she’s talking about me kissing my teeth.

"Oh... It’s... just an old habit." I lie, and she eyes me suspiciously before turning away from me.

"If... you don’t mind me asking, how did things go between you and Alpha Zephan last night?" She questions, and I pause. My legs stop dead in their tracks.

"Please don’t... let’s... can we not talk about any of the Alphas today?" I reply, and I see worry flash across her face for just a few seconds, before she forces a smile.

"Sure." She says, and we continue our walk in silence.

Silence that only lasts for a few seconds, though. The sound of groans, grunts and yelps soon takes up the atmosphere.

What’s going on??

Alana and I soon get to a fork in the road, and the commotion is coming from the right. One would think I’d move towards the left, right?

No.

My legs start moving towards the commotion.

"Master Elian... I don’t think we should..." Alana begins, but I ignore her.

"Master Elian, that path leads to Alpha Rhydian’s training field. I’m not sure he’d appreciate our presence there... You said you don’t want to talk about the Alphas today, right? A good way to start will be not talking to them... especially not Alpha Rhydian when he’s in training mode." She starts ranting, but the commotion ahead is by far more attractive than her voice.

"I just want to see, Alana. That’s all." I reply as I wave a hand dismissively, and she sighs.

I pick up a pace, and a few feet away from a massive oak tree is a vast green field with a couple of men dressed in black.

I move closer to the tree and, peeking from behind it, I observe the scene ahead.

There’s a man in the middle of the field. A slightly tanned, built...

Alpha Rhydian.

I can’t help but take a deep breath at how beautiful he looks.

Sure, he looks... deathly dangerous right now... but God, is he breathtaking??

His wavy ash blonde hair has been held up into a very short ponytail. His knuckles are wrapped in white stripes of clothes and are bloody. His once white pants are now dirty and bloody.

His bare upper body is covered in sweat that makes his skin glisten under the morning sun.

He takes a defensive stance and raises the long sticks in his hand as his fierce eyes scan the men before him. I watch the dragon tattoo around his right arm as his muscles flex, and all I can think about is how flawless this man is.

God indeed is an artist...

I’ve never had a conversation with him before. The first two encounters we’ve had entailed him being pissed at me, but I can’t blame him, can I? Both times, I gave him reasons to be mad.

The first time, I almost got myself killed, and the second time, I got him covered in spit soup.

Maybe I should try apologising to him.

He may not be a brute like his other stupid brother Zephan.

He looks too...

"Master Elian, I really think we should get going..." Alana whispers behind me, and I jerk back to life.

"Just a few more minutes," I whisper back, and this time she kisses her teeth.

"Again!" Rhydian yells, and the total of about ten men around him start charging at him with all the different weapons in their hands.

What the?!

"Don’t hold back... cause I won’t!" He yells further as he studies the approaching men, and my jaw drops.

They shouldn’t hold back?!

Some of them are holding chains and knives, and he has just two sticks. Is he on a suicide mission?!

I watch in utter dumbfoundedness as I watch him twist, turn, strike, and block with those sticks.

I gasp in worry when he sustains a few wounds, but to my surprise, he heals just as quickly as the wounds mar his skin.

That’s right. I almost forgot this isn’t the normal world. Things like a man getting healed immediately after he’s hurt are completely normal here.

I hold my breath as I watch the rest of the fight unfold, and watching it, it dawns on me the reason why Alphas are so feared here. They’re fucking powerful!!

What do you mean this man single-handedly defeated ten men with just two sticks??

"Master Elian, we should..."

"Hold on, the match is almost done!" I whisper back, and she bites her lower lip as if biting back a crash out.

"Master Elian, please try to understand that it could be disastrous if Alpha Rhydian sees you here!" She scolds in a whisper, and every form of excitement I was feeling just a few seconds ago settles down.

"What do you... Why could it be disastrous if he sees me here?" I question as dread begins to set in.

Did I already mess up again? Is spying on a training Alpha some kind of crime? Why didn’t I listen to her?

"Well, he..."

"What are you both doing here??" I freeze on hearing Rhydian’s voice.

When I turn around, he and some of the men still standing are staring at us.

"Oh, master Elián. You’ve really gone and done it now. Alpha Rhydian doesn’t like omegas."

I feel my blood freeze up in my veins as Alana whispers those words to me.

"Wh... what?"

What does she mean he doesn’t like omegas?? Didn’t he buy me alongside his brothers??

"I asked a question." Rhydian’s voice comes again, and I gulp.

What have I gone and gotten myself into this time??
