Chapter 280: Edward Stephens’ Brother

Chapter 280: Chapter 280: Edward Stephens’ Brother

Daisy Ginger swallowed slightly, glanced into the rearview mirror, and unexpectedly met a pair of gentle eyes.

Compared to that person’s voice, his eyes seemed even more astonishing.

They were like a deep spring, looking into them, so gentle it felt like they could drown a person.

Daisy slightly averted her gaze, her heart started pounding. She thought it would be some vicious kidnapper, but the man in the back seat was tall and slender, dressed in refined attire, and even sitting there calmly, she could feel the noble aura of privilege and the elegance in his every move.

What made her feel somewhat indescribable was that this man, although he appeared a few years older than Edward Stephens, at a glance, he surprisingly resembled Edward in some way.

It’s a hard-to-describe feeling because blood relations are like that. She and Emily Ginger were born from the same father, but when they walked out together, others could tell at a glance they were related.

"What... do you mean?" Daisy tentatively asked. If he was a relative of Edward, why was he waving knives and guns at her from the start?

The man smiled gently and gave a look to the person sitting behind her. Soon, the blade pressed against her neck was withdrawn.

Daisy couldn’t relax at all. The air carried the sharp aura of the man, entirely the opposite of his gentle appearance.

The essence of this man was probably not as mild as his tone suggested.

"It’s just that I wish Miss Ginger to get in the car," the man said blandly, "to avoid unnecessary disputes."

It was the first time Daisy heard someone say the word ’kidnapping’ so righteously.

She composed her expression before turning her head to ask, "May I ask, where is Edward?"

This car belonged to Edward Stephens, but now he wasn’t here. Where had this man taken him?

Daisy tightened her grip on her bag. She had already grasped her phone, ready to call the police at any sign of movement.

"Edward might be asleep by now." The man didn’t look at her, casually propped his face, gazing out the window, with a trace of innate arrogance that couldn’t be hidden amidst his composure, "But my invitation for Miss Ginger has nothing to do with Edward."

Daisy frowned slightly, "What do you mean?"

"Miss Ginger, I came for you." He smiled gently and finally turned his head, as if at this moment, she was finally valuable enough to warrant his attention, "My disappointing brother did something foolish to you. I had to come a long way to rectify his mistake. Miss Ginger," he smiled again, nodding to Daisy, "I am Robert Stephens, Edward’s elder brother."

Edward Stephens’s brother...

Daisy’s mind exploded, looking at the face similar to Edward’s yet much more mature and handsome, instinctively thinking, why hadn’t Edward ever told her he had a brother?

Robert watched her expression, slightly curled his thin lips into a faint smile: "Judging by Miss Ginger’s expression, it seems our Edward hasn’t introduced me to you?"

Daisy gripped her phone, staring at him, and asked, "Where’s Edward?"

"He still needs to sleep for another eight hours." Edward glanced at his watch, "By the time he wakes up, we should already be in Chicago."

Daisy stared at him and without hesitation called the police.

She didn’t care about this nonsense of Edward having a brother; she just wanted to know what exactly had happened to Edward!
