Chapter 217: Revenge on the Spot

Chapter 217: Chapter 217: Revenge on the Spot

Jillian Lynch covered her face, staring in shock at her own sister.

"Sis, did you hit me?"

"Yes, I did! You’re so young yet you don’t learn well, how come you only learn such crooked things? Now that Mom and Dad aren’t here, it’s up to me as your sister to educate you properly! Let’s see if you dare to do this again!"

Rosalind Lynch scolded as she raised her hand and struck Jillian’s back firmly.

Jillian instinctively wanted to scream, but the next moment she realized her sister wasn’t hitting her hard at all.

Except for the first slap.

In a flash, she finally understood her sister’s intention.

She quickly cooperated by screaming out loud, crying and begging for mercy while doing so: "Ah... I was wrong... Sis, I really know I was wrong. It was just a moment of confusion, and it was only because I lost my temper."

"But I really didn’t mean to harm her, I thought I’d jump down to save her the next second, but I didn’t expect Ashley Shaw to arrive."

"If she had come a second later, I would have already jumped down to save her."

"I really know I was wrong, I won’t dare do it again, boohoo..."

Jillian’s crying was truly heartbreaking.

Those who heard it were moved to tears.

Claudia Jennings was someone with a soft heart.

Just now, watching Jillian on the surveillance, she thought the kid was terrifying, but now she felt a bit sympathetic.

She reached out to stop Rosalind, who was about to continue hitting Jillian, and said, "Alright, alright, don’t hit her anymore! She only made such a mistake because she’s young. I’m sure after this, she won’t make such a mistake again."

Jillian nodded with tears in her eyes: "Aunt Jennings, I know I was wrong, I won’t do it again in the future. I can apologize to Ariana... please give me a chance."

That was said smartly.

Originally, it was Ariana who should forgive her, but now it turned into needing Rosalind to give her a chance.

Claudia Jennings looked at Jillian’s tear-stained red eyes and ended up speaking for her: "Rosalind, your sister already knows she was wrong, why not give her a chance?"

Ashley Shaw was about to speak when she heard Warren Prescott’s deep voice ring out—

"Have you gone senile?"

Claudia Jennings was taken aback and turned her head to look at Warren.

Seeing Warren’s dark eyes staring straight at her, she confirmed that the "Have you gone senile" was directed at her.

Her eyebrows immediately furrowed.

"What do you mean senile! I’m still young!"

Warren said with a half-smile, "If you’re not senile, why would you let Rosalind give Jillian a chance? The person who truly needs forgiveness is the victim who almost got falsely accused, no?"

The "victim" being mentioned so directly felt a bit embarrassed.

It was the first time so many people had focused their attention on her.

So awkward and embarrassing.

Claudia Jennings glared at Warren.

"Why are you talking so much today? Normally you wouldn’t utter a word even if you were beaten!"

"Seems like you’re the one talking the most today, right?"

"You..."

Warren had no intention of arguing with Claudia Jennings and directly instructed Assistant Lowell, "It’s late, take the elderly upstairs to rest."

"Yes, ma’am, this way please."

Claudia Jennings was furious.

"Elderly? Who’s elderly? Even your grandpa hasn’t left yet! I don’t need to rest now!"

Warren impatiently furrowed his brows.

"Mark? Are your hands broken?"

Assistant Lowell’s heart skipped a beat as he courageously started to drag Claudia Jennings toward the pool entrance.

"Let go of me! Let go! Butler! Stop him!"

The butler looked at Warren, then at Elder Prescott.

The expressions on the faces of the grandfather and grandson were identical, as if they were saying: Dare you try and help?

Claudia Jennings was thus taken away.

Without Claudia Jennings as their final support, the Lynch sisters immediately lost their momentum.

Neither dared to make a sound.

Rosalind was even contemplating how to extricate herself from this situation.

After all, it was her younger sister who acted, not her.

If things really got out of hand, Dad couldn’t place all the blame on her like last time, could he?

Warren stepped forward to Ashley Shaw and Ariana Grant.

"So, how do you want to handle this?"

Ariana was at a loss for words and simply said to Ashley, "Ashley, you decide. I don’t know what to say..."

Ashley nodded slightly, looking at Warren with a complex expression.

She hadn’t expected Warren to choose her and Ariana over the Lynch sisters.

Perhaps his conscience had awakened?

Or maybe the matter getting blown up wouldn’t be beneficial for the Prescott Family.

She contemplated for two seconds before saying, "Call the police. Let them handle it."

Jillian’s eyes widened suddenly.

Does this mean she would go to jail?

No!

"I don’t..."

Just as she started to speak, Warren’s cold voice interrupted, "I wouldn’t suggest that you do."

Jillian’s eyes lit up.

She knew that Warren was still good to her in his heart.

"Why?" Ashley asked.

Only to hear Warren say, "She’s not yet eighteen, and Ariana hasn’t suffered any actual loss. With the Protection of Minors Act in place, the police won’t accept the case."

Jillian stared in disbelief, finally understanding one thing—

Warren wasn’t helping her but rather helping Ashley Shaw weigh the pros and cons.

Analyzing how to truly punish her and make her pay the price.

Her legs gave out, unable to bear the blow, and she crumpled to the ground.

Rosalind was also furious with Warren.

She liked him for so many years, how could he favor Ashley Shaw like this?

Even if she had disappointed him with some actions, what about Jillian? He had always treated Jillian as his own sister, pampering her, yet now he was so ruthless?

Jillian was still a child!

How could he be so heartless?

But Warren had no time to pay attention to the expressions on the Lynch sisters’ faces.

He focused solely on Ashley’s eyes, saying, "After I said this, do you still want to involve the police?"

Ashley fell silent for a moment, understanding that what Warren said was a fact.

She wasn’t familiar with legal knowledge but had heard of the Protection of Minors Act.

Jillian wasn’t yet eighteen, and Ariana hadn’t sustained severe bodily harm. In such a situation, the police couldn’t hold Jillian criminally responsible.

Moreover, the Lynch Family had a strong legal team, while she and Ariana had nothing.

At most, they could try seeking help from Lawyer Sterling.

But expertise is important, and Shane isn’t a lawyer specializing in such cases; he might be willing but unable.

Thinking it through, Ashley also dismissed the idea of "calling the police."

"Then what do you think..." she tentatively asked, "if it were you, what would you do?"

Warren finally lifted his eyes, looking directly at Jillian for the first time since he arrived.

"Of course, I’d get revenge immediately."
