Chapter 235: Disgusting! Hypocritical

Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Disgusting! Hypocritical

Ivy Bond found an excuse to say she was fine while enduring the pain and propping herself up.

However, she hadn’t fully straightened her back when she felt a dizzy spell and fell back again.

Two words flashed in her mind: Oh no.

Outside, the servant’s voice sounded again.

"As long as you’re okay, you gave me a scare just now. Please rest well, I’ll be leaving now."

The sound of footsteps began, with the servant walking towards the staircase.

Ivy hesitated for a couple of seconds, eventually gritting her teeth and saying, "Um... sorry, I fell and my head is spinning. Could you please come in and help me up?"

"Wha-what?"

The servant outside was startled and quickly turned back to open the door handle.

Once the door opened, Ivy Bond was seen awkwardly and painfully lying on the floor.

"Miss Bond!"

The servant rushed to Ivy’s side and slowly helped her sit up.

"Where do you feel unwell? Can you stand up?" the servant asked.

After sitting up, Ivy felt even dizzier.

If it weren’t for the floor dirt, she would have wanted to lie right back down.

Could she have a concussion?

Ivy no longer cared about embarrassment, speaking painfully, "I’m still dizzy."

"Shall I help you to lie on the bed?"

"Okay."

The servant half-bent and slowly helped Ivy onto the bed.

Once she touched the bed, Ivy didn’t care about her dignity anymore and just lay down.

The Xaviers were all healthy, so the family never hired a doctor.

Seeing Ivy’s poor state, the servant decided, "I’ll call an ambulance for you now."

"No..." Ivy was about to refuse but suddenly felt a wave of nausea.

She quickly sat up and rushed to the bathroom.

The servant ignored Ivy, who was dry-heaving nonstop, and directly called 120 for an ambulance.

Then walked to the door, knocking on Claire Xavier’s room across the hall.

Inside the room.

Ashley Shaw and Claire Xavier were sound asleep, only Ariana Grant who was watching a live stream woke them up.

"Ms. Grant, someone seems to be calling you outside."

The two quickly woke up, and Claire Xavier got out of bed first to check outside.

The servant briefly explained the situation.

Claire’s expression turned slightly grave.

The guest had only been at their house for a day before something happened; it was hard to explain to the Bond Family.

"Did you call an ambulance?"

"Yes, they said it would take fifteen minutes."

"Tell them not to bother, we’ll take her directly; it’ll be faster. Have the driver get the car ready, I’ll go change clothes first."

"Yes."

Ashley Shaw and Ariana Grant also came out.

After a quick inquiry, Ashley raised her eyebrow, "Could it be a concussion? That’s how I felt when I had one. Felt dizzy and nauseous."

Claire said, "It might also be low blood sugar, hard to say. Better to get her to the hospital to check."

With that, Claire walked back to her room.

Ashley and Ariana, being guests, hurried back to change as well.

Even though Claire repeatedly told them to go back to sleep, since something happened to someone in the Xavier family, they couldn’t sleep after all.

...

Mr. and Mrs. Xavier were light sleepers, living on the third floor. Hearing the commotion downstairs, they quickly came out to see what was happening.

Cillian Xavier hadn’t been asleep at all, and hearing his parents’ door open next door, he followed them out.

For a moment, all the lights in the Xavier house were on.

Everyone quickly figured out it was Ivy who had fallen, and though there were no obvious injuries, her condition wasn’t good.

"Oh dear, how did she fall? If something happens to her, how am I supposed to explain to your mother?"

Ivy certainly wasn’t about to admit she had deliberately stepped hard on Ashley’s charger out of resentment, which caused her fall.

Suppressing her urge to vomit, she forced a smile and said, "I’m okay, you don’t have to worry about me."

"Alright, mom, stop worrying. The driver has already brought the car out, let’s get her to the hospital first," Claire said, walking over.

She had changed from her pajamas to sportswear to help support Ivy and move quickly at the hospital.

Not having a good impression of Ivy was one thing, but dealing with her accident at their home was another.

Ivy was about to apologize to Claire, but when she lifted her gaze, she saw Ashley behind Claire with a concerned expression.

Sickening! So fake!

They’d only met today, wasn’t this concern a bit too much?

It made her annoyed just looking at her!

Ivy forcibly suppressed the smile she was about to show and deliberately looked at Cillian Xavier instead, "Archie, can you carry me downstairs? I’m really dizzy and can’t walk well..."

Cillian’s expression froze, instinctively stepping back and furrowing his brow.

He turned his head slightly, glancing at Ashley from the corner of his eye.

But Ashley was busy rummaging through her bag, not paying attention to the scene.

Cillian’s throat moved, a sense of bitterness welling up inside.

She... didn’t care at all?

Just like at Rural Eden’s entrance during the day, she didn’t care when he ignored her.

A melancholy filled Cillian’s eyes.

Mrs. Xavier said, "Quickly, Archie! What are you standing there for? Carry Ivy down."

Cillian was silent for a second, but before he could speak, Claire said, "Archie’s arms and legs are frail, he might drop Ivy down the stairs."

Saying this, she called over Mr. Xavier’s bodyguard.

The bodyguard was a tall foreign Black man, with a presence like a small mountain.

Mr. Xavier nodded, "Yes, to be safe, don’t let Archie carry her. You carry her down."

The bodyguard obliged, squatting down in front of Ivy.

Ivy felt both embarrassed and saddened.

She noticed Archie’s step backward.

It painfully pierced her eyes.

She wasn’t unable to walk; she just wanted Archie to carry her in front of Ashley.

But Archie clearly didn’t want to carry her.

At this point, she’d rather walk herself.

Yet, with everyone urging her, she could only grit her teeth and lean onto the bodyguard.

The bodyguard indeed had quite the strength; he firmly lifted Ivy by her legs and quickly moved towards the stairs.

The others hurried to follow.

Claire deliberately lagged behind, grabbing Cillian’s wrist.

"Ashley and Ariana said they want to leave; send them off first and then come to the hospital," she said.

Hearing this, Ashley spoke up before Cillian could, politely declining, "You go about your business; we can take a cab back ourselves. It was pretty easy to hail one when I came."

Claire said, "When you arrived, it was earlier. What time is it now? It’s hard to get a cab now, who knows when you’ll get home. Don’t make me worry, let Archie take you back directly."
