Chapter 105: An Ambush

Chapter 105: 105: An Ambush

"So you two were looking for me all night, huh?" Eden asked, sitting on the horse that Lysander was leading as they walked through the woods.

"Mm -hmm. We thought something terrible happened" Lysander explained.

Eden had his eyes ahead at Elvis’s horse that was slightly in front, passing them. "So you were worried about me indeed" he said to Elvis.

Elvis didn’t look back. He was still moving on his horse.

"We were" Lysander said "My Brother hasn’t slept a wink. He was searching everywhere for you that he didn’t even catch any animals"

Eden smiled, feeling honoured "Is that so?" He felt special "Then I know he actually cares about me"

Elvis still didn’t look back

"But how did you survive? Who kidnapped you?" Lysander asked curiously.

Eden hesitated "Well. It’s some of those nobles. But I was able to escape from them" he didn’t tell them about Leo.

"Oh. That’s good then" Lysander nodded.

Eden looked ahead, his eyes on Elvis’s horse. He thought about what Lysander said. That he didn’t sleep a wink but he was busy looking for him.

Eden smiled.

He pulled the reins of the horse and left Lysander behind, moving in front of Elvis.

"So you didn’t sleep because of me? You must have missed me" Eden said, his horse still moving as he looked back at Elvis’s stiffened expression.

"You’re noisy" Elvis muttered, his eyes on the road.

"I know you were worried about me. You don’t have to be shy about it. Admit it already and everything will be fine" Eden smiled.

"Face your front before you fall off. That would be troublesome. You’ve caused enough trouble for today" Elvis snapped.

"Huh? So you are worried about me indeed" Eden smiled.

Elvis said nothing to him again as he muttered "Suit yourself"

He was moving in his horse as Eden’s horse gracefully walked in front of his own.

Eden still casually looked back as he kept blabbing about how he singlehandedly took down people who came to his attack.

The powers he had gotten excited him. So he couldn’t stop blabbing about how he used them on some people to save himself.

Lysander watched him blab on and on about his experience while walking beside Elvis’s horse. His eyes lit with a smile as he stared at Eden speak.

He watched him blab like a child who had just experienced something fun for the first time. His smile, subconsciously filling his expression.

Elvis still managed to have his pokerface in order.

Eyes on the road as though he wasn’t even staring at Eden. Talk more of understanding what he was saying.

The road ahead was quiet.

The two princes said nothing but left Eden to blab. Only his excited tone was heard brushing through the air.

And as he spoke, a hand extended through the woods. Holding a bow with an arrow set in it, this mysterious person was set to fire.

And he did.

After a while of observing, he released the arrow which was directly targeting Eden who sat on his horse looking back. He wasn’t even looking in front of where the arrow was coming from.

And so the arrow flew directly in Eden’s direction.

Lysander had noticed it. The sharp strain of line flying in Eden’s direction.

One he was certain wasn’t a mere line but an arrow. A dangerous one.

He gasped as he instantly rushed to the scene. Running to Eden’s rescue who wasn’t even aware of the arrow that was coming at him.

"No!" Lysander let out a sharp sound as he approached Eden’s horse. But he was too late to even save Eden.

Because someone else had taken the limelight.

Elvis had Instantly jumped off his horse and skillfully leaped towards Eden’s horse that was just before his own.

His eyes wide in alert as he stretched out his hands and pulled Eden into his arms.

It was a cuddle, or perhaps a hug from the back. A rash but still one where all his arms had cupped Eden into himself.

And automatically both had fallen off the horse that didn’t seem strong enough to hold the weight of the clash.

Thud.

The two had met the hard ground, Eden rolling out of Elvis’ s arms while Elvis lay there at a corner.

Eden gasped. His heart thumping. He didn’t know what the hell had just happened, but he had a feeling that it was nothing good.

And for Elvis to step in and save him in the least expected moment was enough to know that something terrible happened.

"Brother!" Lysander’s voice was sharp. He rushed to their side on the ground and was soon knelt besides Elvis.

"Brother! Are you okay... hey.. Hey!" Lysander spoke with urgency. And Eden knew something was wrong.

He got up as though he had not almost twisted his arm from the fall and turned immediately, only to see Elvis on the ground.

And not only was he on the floor, but an arrow in his arms.

Eden gasped at the gruesome sight. Elvis’s arms were bleeding profusely from where the arrow struck firmly.

And he clearly seemed like one in pain from the shot as he held his arms tightly.

"Brother! Are you okay? Stay firm. Don’t close your eyes. We’ll get help" Lysander sounded worried. And Eden sat there on the floor, stiffened.

For some time he couldn’t think straight. His eyes were on Elvis who was on the ground while he recovered from the shock of it all.

And when he did, he instantly got up on his feet.

Eden walked up to them and said "The fireworks. Set it off and signal the officials" that was the only thing he could think about.

"Don’t..." Elvis muttered "We still haven’t completed the event..." he was still worried about the damn event.

"No one cares about that. You’re hurt and you need to be taken care of right now. So Lysander set off that fireworks right now!" Eden wasn’t asking, he was commanding.

And Lysander didn’t think twice about it. He got out his firework and set it off into the sky. Setting a pattern into the sky.
