Chapter 104: 104: Found You
"We can meet in my room. Like I said, it’s the safest place so far" Eden reminded.
"And for the meantime, I think whenever I’m free?" Eden added.
"How am I supposed to know when?" Felix said "I might as well be coming whenever I’m free"
Eden didn’t oppose it. "What if I’m not in my room when you arrive?"
"Then I’ll signal you when I’m around" Felix said. They were still strolling through the pathways.
"And how do you plan on doing that?" Eden asked.
"This..." Felix said as he stopped.
Eden too stopped as he turned to look at what Felix had in his hands.
Felix had two objects in his hands that looked completely identical.
They look like little whistling objects made of wood and attached to a rope.
Pretty old and tacky looking.
"What’s that? It looks hideous" Eden pointed out.
Felix glared at him "it’s not up to you to say" He defended
"It’s something I made myself. A whistle that has some unique sound to it. It’s not something that will necessarily cause an alarm since it’s sound has the natural sound of a bird"
Eden took one from his hands and stared at the ancient looking object. It looked like some artifacts he had seen at the museum sometime ago.
Eden blew it. And the sound of some birds were heard. It was impressive, a whistle which produced natural bird sounds.
That way, no one will necessarily suspect anything If they use it for signalling or calling each other.
"This is pretty unique I guess" Eden nodded.
"Of course it is. I made it" Felix sounded proud.
Eden knew it would have been best to result in magical means for this. But with his powers only being temporal, he doubted the chances of it being of any help.
"So whenever you’re at my room, you’ll blow it?" Eden asked.
"Yes. And you’ll know I’m around. And don’t worry, as long as you’re within the palace building, you’ll hear it" He stated.
Eden stared at the whistle and casually nodded "Whatever" He looked at the one in Felix’s hands and then looked at his own.
"Why do they look too similar? It looks like a couple pair or something?" Eden figured he wouldn’t understand what he meant.
Felix sighed "I had initially made it to give to the woman I’ll be together with. That way we can always know where we are .." Felix looked disappointed as he stared at Eden.
"But I guess they’ll have to go to you first"
Eden blinked "And what’s with the reaction? It can still work out since we could potentially be lovers. So it still helped"
"I already told you. I only like girls. I don’t like guys, so don’t even think that I’ll like you like that" Felix was still firm with his belief.
Eden could only stare at him "Sure. Whatever"
He had his eyes on the whistle as he added "So since that’s done, you should find a way to be able to sneak into the palace"
"Don’t worry. I know my way around" He assured him.
Eden stared at him "How? Did you live in the palace before or something!"
Felix hesitated "No. I just do. I always do"
Eden hesitated, staring at him for a while. But he brushed the thought off "Whatever. I don’t care. If you get caught don’t even dare mention my name"
"Sure. I won’t -"
Before Felix could finish his words, they heard someone speak from a distance.
"Eden?"
Felix and Eden turned to see Lysander and Elvis making their way to their direction on their horses.
Eden smiled, he had finally found them.
"It’s him" Lysander said as they approached while sitting on his horse.
Eden realised he was with Felix, someone they clearly didn’t know yet. He didn’t think he wanted them to know each other.
So he turned to Felix "You have to leave now. Don’t get involved with the royals"
Felix didn’t protest. He casually turned and walked off. Soon he disappeared into the woods.
Elvis and Lysander were soon close to Eden. Lysander got down from the horse.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt or something?" Lysander was worried as he checked all around Eden’s body to make sure he was alright.
Eden smiled "Don’t worry. I’m fine"
Elvis still had his eyes on the path through which Felix had left. "And who was that that just left?"
He asked as Eden looked up at him "The person who saved me" Eden was quick to answer.
Elvis had a cold expression as he stared at Eden "Is that so? Well, you two seemed pretty close for someone who you just met"
Eden smiled "What can I do. I guess I’m just that easy to get along with"
"Is that so?" Elvis stated.
Eden now smiled "Why? Are you perhaps, jealous?"
"And why would I be? I’m just being cautious so you don’t invite more trouble than you’ve already invited for everyone" He said.
Elvis added "And since he’s your saviour, why don’t you invite him over so we can all collectively thank him"
Eden smiled "He had something urgent. So he had to leave"
Elvis still wasn’t cool with the answers.
"Since you’re okay. That’s all that matters" Lysander smiled.
Eden smiled back at him while Elvis glared at the two with a cold expression on.
"Since you’ve been found, let’s get going" Lysander said "Get on" he offered his horse.
Eden smiled "Thanks. You’re so much better than your brother" Eden smiled while Lysander helped him get onto the horse.
Lysander didn’t get on the horse but walked while leading the horse by its reins.
Elvis didn’t even bother waiting for them, he was already ahead.
*******
And while the three of them left, someone stared at them from the bushes.
Someone clothed in black and with a piece of clothes covering his face as well. Only his eyes were visible as he watched them.
In his hands, were his arrows set on his bow. Ready to strike.
