Chapter 161: My Condition

Chapter 161: 161: My Condition

"Don’t you like your tongue anymore?" Leo questioned, his eyes cold.

Eden smiled. "No, not at all."

"Then don’t waste my time," Leo expressed. "I don’t have the whole time in the world to waste on your silly jokes."

Eden shrugged. "It might not be a joke... who knows." He now brought his legs up on the table.

Eden crossed his legs on the table. His bare legs on the table, with his robes parted.

Damien’s eyes fell on Eden’s legs. He blinked at the sight of the fair legs that were being flaunted by Eden on the table.

Leo’s eyes went wide in shock for a while as he stared at Eden. "What do you think you’re doing?"

Eden relaxed without saying a thing.

"This is a dining table. And so you should follow the ethics behind it," Leo instructed.

"It’s not that deep. I’m just relaxing. You needed answers for the message you sent me? Well, let’s get serious now." Eden smiled. "I’ll tell you what you want to hear."

Leo paused, his eyes moving from Eden’s legs to his face.

Eden crossed his arms as he stared at Leo. "So let’s make it quick. What do you want to know?"

Leo glared at him. "I sent you a message and gave you a deadline. So I don’t need to remind you of anything."

Eden smiled. "Hmmm. Okay. Well, actually I found something. Something really, really, really interesting. Something that I’m pretty sure you’ll like to hear."

Leo stared at him.

Eden picked up a lap of chicken from the table and took a huge bite. "But... you can’t have the information for free..."

Damien frowned. "Huh? What do you mean by that?"

"I mean what I said. I can’t tell you for free. Can I?" He smiled at Leo.

Leo glared at him. "What do you mean?"

"I have information that will change the way you act towards your so-called revenge. And it’s spicy information about the royal family. I’m pretty sure you’ll be glad to hear it." Eden smirked at him.

Leo hesitated. "Then don’t waste my time and tell me."

"I said I have a condition," Eden added.

"You—!" Damien was about to snap at him, but Leo raised his hand to stop him. He stared at Eden.

"What condition?"

Eden enjoyed some more meat while they stared at him. And then he stared at him with a smile. "I’m tired tonight. Tomorrow we discuss it in more detail."

Leo raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Tomorrow. It’s not like I’m running away or anything. I just want to take my time and process the information. Since I came here tonight, I should rest. Don’t you think?"

"What are you still processing? What’s hard in just spilling what you know?!" Damien was losing it.

"And..." Eden ignored him and added, "My condition is pretty simple. I want to sleep in the same room as you."

"..." Damien was shocked.

"What rubbish are you spilling?!" he questioned.

"It’s not rubbish. I want to spend more time close to you. Am I wrong for wanting that?" Eden had decided that if he wanted to know more about Leo, he’d have to be more direct with him.

"And why would you want to sleep in my room? You already have yours." Leo was still calm.

"My room is in ruins. I can’t sleep there," Eden said.

"In ruins? What do you mean? It was perfectly fine when I prepared it! What are you even talking about?" Damien questioned.

"You can go check it out for yourself if you want," Eden shrugged. "I can’t stay there."

Leo looked at Damien. "Check it out and report back to me."

"Yes, my lord." Damien was soon gone to check on Eden’s room.

He briefly returned with a report. "The room is..."

"What happened to it?" Leo stared at him.

"It smells like chemicals, and some stuff has been strangely turned into ashes..." he explained.

Leo only had his eyes on Eden, who struggled with a smile.

"You see? I can’t stay there. So I want to sleep in the same room as you," Eden said boldly.

Leo had his eyes firmly on Eden, whom he tried to understand. He didn’t know what Eden was possibly up to. And he didn’t think he would easily understand.

"I wonder why the wizard of EL is so bent on sharing the same room as me," Leo said. "That doesn’t sound so casual."

"Maybe because I like you?" Eden shrugged again, his legs still crossed gracefully over the table.

Damien blinked. "What rubbish! How can you say such a shameless thing! The lord only likes ladies!"

"Is that so? Then why isn’t your lord married? Why does he keep driving away all the girls that come to him? It only proves that he likes men too. And since I like men too, I think we’d be a perfect match."

He smiled at Leo as he asked, "Don’t you think so too?"

"You shameless being. How can you... use such words... I’m just speechless." Damien was too stunned to speak.

But Leo was calm. "You use such barbaric words casually. That says a lot about you. Uneducated and wild, just as expected of a great devil."

Eden blinked. He felt insulted.

He didn’t go to school just to be called uneducated! He was sure their education was far better than this old-styled one.

"Uneducated?" Eden scoffed. "Don’t you think you’re also barbaric with your language then?"

"The audacity! The lord is a well-educated scholar with dignity and all. So how dare you call him uneducated?" Damien was always coming to the damn rescue.

It was already pissing Eden off.

Eden scoffed. "I can already count how many times you’ve threatened to kill me here. That doesn’t paint you a dignified scholar at all. How ironic to think that you wrote the work The Art of Living in Modesty."

Eden had referenced one of Leo’s works.

But the problem with the reference was that Leo hadn’t published that work yet at all.
