Chapter 173: Ungrateful brat

Chapter 173: 173: Ungrateful brat

Eden had taken a warm bath. And when he was all dressed up, he made his way to the dining table where Leo had requested him.

He soon was sitting down opposite Leo at the dining table. And only tea and some pancakes were served to them.

Damien casually stood at the side of Leo, watching them.

The room was silent for a while as Leo enjoyed his tea. Eden did too before he spoke up.

"You seemed to have enjoyed your sleep," Eden said with a soft smile, staring at him. "I suppose I did something right for once."

Leo said nothing. He still had his eyes on the teacup for a while, and then he added, "I wonder what magic trick you used this time around..."

"Not necessarily," Eden smiled. "It was just some tricks I learnt along the way. It’s not necessarily sorcery."

"Is that so..." Leo nodded, his eyes on the tea before him. He gently stirred it with his spoon.

"You should stop your drugs and seek a healthier means of getting better. That would do you a better deal," Eden casually said while taking a bite off the pancake.

Leo hesitated. "I don’t think I need your medical advice on anything."

Eden stared at him as he muttered to himself, "How ungrateful..."

Damien stood there without saying anything. He stared at Leo, who was saying the opposite of what he wanted him to say, and then stared at Eden.

"Besides... we have bigger issues to tackle. Your time is already up. So don’t waste further time and tell me what I really want to hear."

Leo sipped from his cup and then looked up at Eden. "Tell me results from the mission I handed you."

Eden stared at him with a deep sigh. "How ungrateful. I helped you last night. Don’t you think you should be rewarding me now for it?"

Leo’s eyes were cold. "I don’t have time for that. We can grant you some money if that’s what you want. But you’ll have to provide the information needed."

Eden blinked with a deep sigh. He almost rolled his eyes at the thought of getting a cold because of some jerk like this. "You... What do you want from me?"

"It’s simple. Hand me the information and everything will be easier," Leo said coldly.

Eden had his eyes on Leo. They were quiet for a while as though they were studying each other.

And then Eden said, "Then I guess I’m afraid to tell you that I don’t have any information for you."

"What?" Leo was almost shocked at his words, as though those were the last words he was expecting to hear from him. "What do you mean by that...?"

"It’s just as it is," Eden shrugged, eating his pancakes. "There is no information to bring to you. I didn’t find anything. So basically I just lied that I did so I’ll enjoy some accommodations, I guess."

He said this while enjoying his tea.

Eden had his reasons.

Considering what Leo was going through, his trauma which led to his current state, Eden had also concluded that it was a terrible idea to tell him about anything of the sort.

Even though he didn’t want to tell him anyways, that was more reason for him not to even bother doing so.

He didn’t think he was ready to find out what really went down. Eden felt he should first heal.

The room was silent. Very silent. Leo and Damien had their eyes on Eden, who was enjoying the meal before him.

Damien stared at Leo, whom he was sure was already boiling up. He could feel his pain — the impact of the news that had befallen him at the moment.

He was already expecting his wrath to start falling upon Eden at the moment.

But Leo casually said, "Is that so?"

Damien blinked. Shocked.

Eden smiled at him. "Yes. That’s so."

"So. You didn’t find anything at all?"

Eden shook his head. "Nothing at all."

"Not even a name?"

Eden shook his head aggressively. "Not even a game."

Leo kept his cool. "And you didn’t tell me this on time so you would stay over...?"

Eden nodded. "Exactly."

"Why though?" Leo was still trying to keep his calm.

"Nothing much. I guess I just wanted to spend some time with you," Eden smiled.

Leo hesitated for a while, staring at Eden as though trying to figure out how his brain worked. And then with a deep sigh, he said,

"So... you really don’t have anything...?"

Eden shook his head. "Nothing at all. But at least I have something that you can benefit from."

Leo stared at him. He didn’t ask what it was, but Eden said it anyway.

"At least I have a means of helping you get over your insomnia. So if you keep me around closely, I can be of good help to you," he smiled.

Eden figured it’d be a great deal if he agreed to it. Especially for the fact that it would at least keep him alive.

But it didn’t seem Leo was okay with the idea.

"Like I said, I don’t need any medication from you. So you don’t need to worry about that," Leo said.

Eden stared at him for a while. "Oh. Is that so? Then I guess I don’t have any need for that. I might as well be on my way home."

"No rush though," Leo stopped him, his lips sipping from the teacup before him.

Eden watched him.

"Because even though I won’t need your medical advice, I’m quite curious about something," he looked at Eden.

Eden’s eyes were on him too. "And what’s that?"

"The tool you made..." Leo hesitated. "I have to say I’m most intrigued by your craftsmanship of transformation. To make such a tool like that... is rather interesting..."

Eden now stared at Leo, shocked. He couldn’t help but wonder if this ungrateful jerk was praising him for something now or?!
