Chapter 172: The plan stays

Chapter 172: 172: The plan stays

Leo paused as he sipped through his drink. "You still remember the plan we made the other day, right?"

"Yes, I do," Damien nodded.

"Well, get it ready for execution soon then. We’ll have to start somewhere today. It’s the deadline," Leo explained.

Damien nodded as he stared at Leo’s face. He had now taken a closer look at his face and he was rather shocked.

"My lord..." he called.

Leo stared at him. "What’s it?"

"Did you sleep?"

Leo hesitated. "What?"

Damien had lost control of himself, and he instantly reached out his hands to feel Leo’s eye bags.

"!!!" Leo was shocked as he pulled himself backward, glaring at him. "What happened to your manners?!"

"Oh! I’m sorry, My lord!" Damien pulled backward. "I was just shocked that you actually slept?! And it doesn’t look like a sleep helped by the medicine..."

He knew because if it was, he’d be seeing some stress marks. But for the first time in a long time, his eyes were puffy like one who had had a long satisfying sleep. "And are you just waking up now??"

He also noticed the time.

"Mm-hmm," Leo nodded, still sipping through his drink. "I slept and woke up a while ago."

"..." Damien was beyond shocked. "How..?"

"And I slept in my room..." Leo added, as though he was asking himself a question.

Damien blinked. "You did?! How?!"

Leo sighed as he stared into thin air, sipping through his drink while having Damien stare at him in shock. "It’s strange..."

"What happened? How did you...?" Damien questioned.

Leo didn’t wish to speak. But he guessed he had no choice. "I think it has something to do with the wizard. I feel he used some strange tricks..."

"Him?" Damien blinked as he recalled Eden asking him where Leo was the other day. "Maybe he actually wanted to help him..." he muttered.

Leo stared at him. "What?"

"Nothing. It’s just that I feel like he helped you out... sincerely this time around," Damien said.

"The Wizard of EL can never be sincere with his actions. So there must be something he did it for... or something he wants," Leo concluded.

Damien nodded. "Makes sense."

"But..." Damien added, "You must feel good having slept so well..."

He was happy to hear Leo had finally had a good night’s sleep after a long time. A healthy one without relying on drugs or whatsoever. That was what he had always aimed to make come true.

But he never did.

He was already losing hope for a solution to this illness. And now, hearing that there was actually a solution that helped him sleep, he couldn’t be happier.

"But then, My lord. You could actually benefit from this," Damien said.

Leo stared at him. "What do you mean..."

"What if you don’t kill him off now, and let him keep putting you to sleep peacefully till you’re finally recovered? Maybe that could be of help..."

Leo thought for a while and sighed. "I don’t need his sleep spell or whatsoever. That’s not my worries now. I have plans I have to work towards, and that’s what I should think of."

He believed he didn’t need good sleep therapy, even though he was happy and refreshed for the one he got.

"But... it’s good for you. And if you keep this up for a while, it might actually cure you finally. And considering you slept in the bedroom that haunts you because of his special spell means that he is indeed skillful enough..."

"So if you keep him for a while, he could actually help..." Damien added.

"It all started because of my parents. So if I can get justice for their name, it’ll all come to an end," Leo insisted. "So I don’t need his spell. All I need is his answers. And if he doesn’t, then I’ll kill him off and find something else."

Leo was already fixed on what he wanted.

He was a difficult person to deal with, and Damien knew this. Once he made up his mind, there was no going back. So Damien didn’t bother much.

"Okay, sure. I’ll get everything ready for execution then," he assured.

---

Eden turned around the bed for a while before he finally woke up.

He felt a pinch of cold run through his body as he quickly covered himself up with the thick sheets around.

He was feeling cold.

Eden shook his head. "I can’t fall sick in this world, it’s bad for my image. And they don’t have better medicines here..." He said to himself while he slowly got out of bed.

Lenny popped up at his side. "Do you know what you did last night?"

Eden stared at him while sitting in bed. "I made the Grand Duke sleep?"

"Well. After that..." Lenny said.

Eden thought. "I slept with him?"

"No..."

"We slept together?"

"..." Lenny blinked.

"What?"

"Well, you sent some children to swim through a river of dirt all night. And now they smell like the depths of dirt."

Eden blinked. "Huh? I did that?"

Lenny nodded. "When you thought the spell that transported you and Leo to your bed perfectly was successful, you didn’t know it had some counter effects."

"Oh," Eden blinked. "I guess they had to suffer for that..."

"And you’re coming down with a cold," Lenny observed. "So your power might be a little bit out of place. So you should avoid using it too much till you recover."

Eden ran a hand through his forehead. "It’s all because of that nerdy guy. He better be grateful because I sacrificed my health to make his ass sleep."

Lenny shrugged. "I don’t know about that though."

"Well. Me using my powers depends on the situation. If it’s peaceful, then I won’t need it," he said as he got up to his feet and adjusted his robe’s cord.

"But if they want to take me down, I guess I won’t just stand by and watch them do that. Will I?" Eden shrugged.
