Chapter 27: 27: What Deal?
The Imperial Princess Cordelia is a spoiled brat.
A whiny princess whom everyone had no choice but to listen to. Even her father, the emperor.
She was one to push everyone around with her authority. One hated and feared by most. A typical brown haired villainess of a storyline.
And at that moment she had used her same authoritative character to shut the king up.
Now, she turned to look in the direction of the Crown prince Elvis.
Eden peeped at her while still standing behind Elvis. He wondered what she would do next.
"Elvis, come over here. Leave that monster alone. Come over and we’ll protect you" she said.
Elvis still stood in front of Eden. He had no plans of moving anytime soon.
"I know he’s threatening you. Listen, we will protect you. I’m the Imperial Princess and I can protect you. You don’t have to be afraid of him" she continued.
"Step aside" Elvis said to Cordelia.
"It’s me" Cordelia emphasized "You have to listen to me"
"Make way so I’ll pass" Elvis demanded "And no one should come after me... Unless..."
"This useless brat!" The King snapped angrily.
"Do as he said" Cordelia instructed. "Make way for him to pass. Now"
Cordelia was one to listen to whatever Elvis said. She always wanted to be on his good side. And so she had done as Elvis had demanded.
"Your Imperial Highness, we can’t let them have their way. He’s not in his right mind!" The King snapped.
"I said make way. He knows what he’s doing" Cordelia was still in support of Elvis. She trusted him nevertheless.
"So everyone, make way for them. And don’t stop them at all" she ordered.
The King knew he couldn’t go against her words. Doing so would be going against the emperor. Because the emperor adored her a lot.
Soon everyone stepped aside. They all stared in fear and confusion. The path was cleared for Elvis.
Elvis looked back at Eden who stood behind him.
"Let’s go"
Eden teased "You should hold my hands. I’m too scared to walking past their midst. What if they harm me"
Eden could see the annoyed glare in Elvis’s eyes "Just follow me" He repeated as he turned to move.
While Elvis walked, Eden held onto his hands against his wish.
Elvis couldn’t brush off his hands. He was being alert of the guards around.
So he left Eden’s hands that were wrapped into his hands as they moved through the path made for them.
"Why is that monster holding Elvis’s hands?!" Cordelia was pissed at the sight.
Eden casually looked up at her with a slight smile and a wink. And then left through the door with Elvis.
With them out of sight, Cordelia was still annoyed over the fact that Eden grabbed Elvis’s hands. But the king had other worries.
"Your Imperial Highness, you can’t let him have his ways with such stupid acts. He is making a mistake he will regret soon" The King approached her.
"Elvis isn’t dumb. And he makes no mistakes. Trust him for he knows what he’s doing. It’s all part of his brilliant plans" She said.
"But he..." The king tried saying.
"No one will touch him" She insisted "And I’ll make sure of it. Anyone who dares harm him will face the Imperial wrath. Understood?"
No one dared talk again.
"And..." Cordelia stared at the king "Prepare a chamber for me. I’ll be staying over to make sure that Elvis is safe in the hands of that monster"
The King casually turned to the guards "Go and make preparations for a room for the Imperial Princess. And take her along"
As instructed, the guards led the way. And Cordelia followed.
The nobles around didn’t hesitate before they slowly began leaving. It was obvious that the banquet was over.
Everything has been ruined with the presence of the wizard. And now everyone were heading home. Soon, the king and his people were the only ones left at the banquet hall.
"That bratty princess.." The second Queen muttered. "Who does she think she is? Coming to boss us around in our own territory and telling you how to handle your business? She needs to be stopped"
The King sighed "We can’t do anything about it. Else the emperor will have our heads"
The King had both hands behind him "That useless son of mine. What the hell does he think he’s doing?"
"Are you sure the wizard is not controlling him or something?" The second Queen suggested. "We have to stop his madness this moment"
"We can’t do anything with the Imperial Princess having given her word to not touch him. Especially since she’s around" The king pointed out.
"So what are we going to do? Let him have his way?" She questioned.
"Certainly not" The King said "Let’s just see how things go. But look on the bright side, at least the wizard is back to our side. Killing him shouldn’t be hard"
The second Queen nodded "Yes. At least we have him in our territory"
"Let’s just see what he has to say for this stupid act of his" The King said "Then I’ll know how to handle that bastard"
The King angrily stormed off to his chamber, followed by the second Queen. And then the guards and servants followed while the rest cleared up the banquet hall.
********
Elvis dragged Eden into his chamber as he shut the door. Mr George stood guard at the door with three other guards.
Elvis roughly pushed Eden aside in his room while freeing his hands from Eden’s grip.
"That wasn’t nice of you" Eden mumbled as he messaged his wrist.
"I’ve done as you suggested" Elvis said, now glaring at Eden "So when will you start keeping your own side of the deal?"
Eden paused, blinking and staring at him. "What deal?"
Elvis paused, staring at him. He didn’t say anything for a while. As though he was trying to read through Eden.
But then he suddenly pulled out his sword and threw it. He sent it flying towards Eden’s direction.
