Chapter 222 - 222 Typhoon Again!

The sky gradually turned to dusk, on the deserted island.

Jiang Feng and Chu Feifei spent most of the day, only to find a cave on the mountain.

The cave wasn't very big, about three meters high, four to five meters wide, and three to four meters deep inside. However, the inside was high, the entrance low, and the ground was dry without any water accumulation, making it quite suitable for the two to temporarily reside.

They tidied up the cave a bit, cleaned out the debris inside, and then laid a thick layer of dry grass. Jiang Feng also nailed a row of wooden stakes at the entrance, which were tall enough to block the entrance, preventing the wind at night and deterring other animals from coming in.

Finally, Jiang Feng even made a wooden door to facilitate easy access.

After finishing everything, Jiang Feng asked Chu Feifei to stay in the cave while he went out to catch a roe deer. There were plenty of foolish roe deers on the island, unafraid of humans, and Jiang Feng caught one almost effortlessly.

The two hadn't eaten much all day and were starving.

Jiang Feng slaughtered it by the river, cleaned and skinned it, and brought back the fresh meat. He set up a bonfire outside the cave to roast the venison.

This purely wild venison was very delicious, and when roasted, it gave off a fragrant aroma, full of flavor.

The best part was Jiang Feng unexpectedly discovered a small salt cave, where there were some salt crystals. He brought it back and sprinkled it on the meat. Though different from regular salt, it was enough to season the meat.

Once again, Chu Feifei experienced Jiang Feng's cooking skills, gently tearing off a piece of roasted venison to taste, finding it indeed golden and juicy, fragrant but not greasy.

Being able to eat something so delicious in the wild made her immensely satisfied, and her depressing mood from waiting for rescue all day was alleviated.

The sky quickly darkened, and the two sat in front of the fire, eating the delicious venison, with the carefully arranged cave behind them, giving them a surprisingly cozy little home feeling.

Chu Feifei's mind once again wandered to that strange thought: if the rescuers never found them, wouldn't she be trapped on the island with Jiang Feng for a lifetime?

This bold idea caused Chu Feifei to startle as soon as it arose. Soon, she was surprised to realize that she wasn't particularly opposed to it!

This meant she was willing to spend the rest of her life with Jiang Feng!

For a moment, she even forgot to eat the venison, shyly sneaking a glance at Jiang Feng.

"If I could stay on this island with Uncle forever... living a life for two wouldn't be too bad, working at sunrise and resting at sunset, he hunts, I weave clothes..."

As Chu Feifei was indulging in her fantasies, she quickly recalled something and shook her head, saying, "No, this can't be too comfortable! If we can't go back, Chu Yan will continue to get away with his crimes, and my father's death would be in vain!"

"We still have to go back and not let Chu Yan's plot succeed!"

...

After finishing the venison, it was completely dark, and it seemed like there was no hope for rescue today.

Jiang Feng added some wood to the fire inside the cave, making it a bit warmer in there.

Tonight, they were bound to spend the night in this cave. Before heading inside, Chu Feifei went to the river for a bath, a habit she cultivated over the years, bathing daily at home. Now on this deserted island, living rough, she needed to maintain cleanliness even more.

When she returned, Jiang Feng had set up the campfire inside the cave. Seeing Chu Feifei with her hair disheveled and wet, still wet in some places, and without a hairdryer, she had to let her body dry naturally.

However, the worse part was, after her bath, Chu Feifei had also washed her close-fitting clothes. Although wrapped in leaves, they barely covered anything, revealing more than they hid.

Especially her lower body, although she added some large leaves in front and behind, at night they weren't fastened securely, leaving gaps through which her fair thighs were vaguely visible.

Jiang Feng kept his eyes straight ahead, while Chu Feifei, aware that her attire was inadequate, hugged herself, blushing, as she walked into the cave, taking off the grass sandals on her tender feet before directly crawling into the dry grass like a little bug.

"Uncle, it's late, let's sleep."

"Hmm." Jiang Feng went to close the small wooden door. When he returned, he felt a bit embarrassed—Chu Feifei looked like a shy bride on her wedding night, lying on the bed, waiting for her husband to join her.

In the flickering firelight, Chu Feifei's shy, charming face appeared exceedingly beautiful, stunningly breathtaking.

Jiang Feng took a deep breath and lay down on the grass mat as well. The mat wasn't as comfortable as imagined, with grass stalks poking, but better than lying on the beach.

Cramped on the small grass mat, the two were inevitably a bit awkward.

Although twice in the past two days, Chu Feifei had fallen asleep in Jiang Feng's arms, the first time was due to being unconscious from the seawater and the second time unconsciousness at night. Now both were awake; she naturally felt embarrassed to cuddle into Jiang Feng's arms again.

Chu Feifei deliberately turned around, facing her pale, beautiful back to Jiang Feng, and formally admonished, "Uncle, sleep properly at night, no crossing the line, and no groping~"

Jiang Feng was speechless. Both times, it was she who snuggled up to him all by herself; when did he ever cross the line?

By now, it was pitch black outside, and the light from the campfire was reflecting on Chu Feifei's slightly curled, beautiful figure, as exquisite as amber.

The two remained silent with their thoughts for a few minutes in the quiet cave, clear enough to distinctly hear each other's breathing.

Just as Chu Feifei was about to do something irresistible, suddenly, a burst of thunder rumbled from the sky outside, followed by a flash of lightning.

The already uneasy Chu Feifei quickly turned around, looking at the cave entrance in fright.

In the distance on the horizon, the previously clear night sky suddenly rolled with dark clouds, becoming gloomy.

Strong winds from the sea fiercely hit the island, continuously howling!

"Is the typhoon coming again?" Jiang Feng frowned as he looked at the lightning and thunder outside.

He sat up to look outside and saw in just a short while, the light rain already started outside, and the temperature dropped suddenly.

"It's really cold!"

The island's weather changes abruptly, even Jiang Feng felt the chill!

The small wooden door couldn't block the strong winds from outside, and Chu Feifei, even shaking slightly from the wind and rain, Jiang Feng glanced at her and immediately shared some of his grass cloak with her.

Gratefully, Chu Feifei looked at Jiang Feng, then suddenly pointed with her fair hand toward the distant sea, saying, "Uncle, look..."
