Chapter 177: 177: Try escaping
A white fox dashed out of thin air and into appearance.
The huge white fox ran toward Leo and waved its tail at him. The white fox’s tail flushed Leo away as he flew off.
The guards were shocked at the sight.
"What’s that?"
"A fox...?"
"That’s no ordinary fox at all. That’s a mystical being!" one cried in panic.
The guards helped Leo up to his feet as they stared at the mystical white fox that now stood beside Eden, who was struggling to his feet.
The white fox stood tall and huge—above normal size. Its eyes were purple and glittery, and its fur was snow-white and soft.
Its huge tail curled up behind it as it stared at them.
"What in the world is that...?" Leo glared at it, recovering from the fall. Damien now stood behind him.
"It’s probably a demonic being summoned by that wizard," Damien expressed.
Leo panted softly as he said, "I don’t care what the hell that is... take it down and bring that wizard to me. Don’t let the wizard out of here!"
It was an order, and the guards picked up their swords and spears, all firm and ready for attack while they positioned themselves toward Eden.
Eden got up to his feet and climbed on the fox’s back.
"What took you so long? I almost died," Eden asked the fox.
"Sorry, your cold was making it hard for me to transform into something meaningful. I literally became a rat and a bee," Lenny said.
"Attack!" The guards now threw their spears at the fox.
The fox glared at them, and with his tail, which he waved toward the arrows, these arrows puffed into purple dust and fell to the ground.
The guards blinked.
"Attack!" Those with swords made their way toward them, but Eden stared at them. He cast a spell, his eyes purple, and immediately the guards froze.
Their swords began freezing in ice, and soon, with another spell from Eden, the swords shattered into a thousand pieces.
"I guess it worked." Eden smiled as he stared at Leo. "Now you don’t have any capable men for the job." He smiled.
Leo scoffed. "Do you think that’s all I’ve got? Well, I’d like to see how you leave here."
Leo took his whistle by his side and blew it. Immediately, there was some sound coming from outside.
Reinforcements were summoned. Guards and soldiers began flooding and mounting themselves outside the building—a lot of them, with their arms.
It was as though they had come for a war. And Eden didn’t need to see them to know that a lot was outside. He was pretty much surrounded.
He stared at Leo. "It seems you enjoy wasting forces on me. Why call a whole army troop on me?"
"It’s not a waste as long as I can have your head today," Leo said firmly.
Eden smiled. "Is that so? Then I guess I’ll have to disappoint you and make it a waste by leaving here with my head intact."
"You can try," Leo threatened.
Eden bent to Lenny and whispered, "Let’s go outside. I believe we’ll find our way out."
Lenny nodded and immediately turned. He zoomed out of the building, leaving through the door.
"He’s going out..." Damien said.
"Leave him," Leo said calmly.
"Aren’t you going to stop him?" Damien asked.
"I can’t walk past the soldiers outside alive. He can only try," Leo said confidently. "We’ll just have to watch."
With both hands behind him, Leo walked out of the building with Damien and some other guards.
They all walked out to the entrance of the building, where they stood behind Eden and his fox, watching as he was surrounded by the soldiers Leo had summoned.
Eden sat on the fox, surrounded by hundreds of soldiers that were in front of him and at his sides.
There were a lot of them, and he wasn’t sure he could fight them off with his powers. His powers weren’t even that stable, and he wasn’t even a pro in using them yet.
And he had zero physical combat skills yet.
Eden sighed. "I think I need to start taking this wizard thing a little seriously..."
"You think?" Lenny said. "You should."
Leo had both hands behind him as he smiled. "You can try running all you want. I’m curious to see how the wizard of EL could escape this."
Eden looked back at him, casting a cold glare on him. "Thanks for the well-wishing. But I won’t be needing it."
Leo smiled.
Eden turned to Lenny and said, "I’ll try using some powers and see how it works. You could try as well. And then I’ll try teleporting. Even if it takes us to the Sahara Desert, it’s still better. You can be a donkey there," he said.
"....." Lenny was speechless. "And why would you want to go there?!"
"I’m just saying. Anything is possible with my powers," he said as he now looked up at the guards, who were waiting for him to strike first.
"Let’s do it." Eden gently placed a hand over the fox’s fur, his purple eyes now on the guards as he began muttering some spell.
Lenny’s eyes also went purple, glittering.
The guards were alert now. Seeing that he was pulling something, they prepared their arms for attack.
Eden was deep in his spell now, muttering words that began summoning a purple circle around them.
He wasn’t sure of what he was doing. He was casually asking for protection from his powers while muttering the words of protection to himself as a spell.
The circle kept growing and becoming more visible to the guards, who stared in confusion. Even Leo had his eyes on him.
"What’s he doing?" Damien asked.
"Probably pulling some tricks," he said as he stared at the leader of his soldiers, who stood in front of the others with his sword.
And then he gave him a simple order. "Take him down."
